This deep blue mug is glazed in a gorgeous cobalt with rainy drizzles throughout the piece.  The handle is hand-pulled, making it a perfect fit in the hand.  This small mug is perfect for that first cup of tea on a sleepy morning.  One of three mugs thrown during a spring Florida rainstorm, this rainwater mug embodies simple pleasures.  I threw this mug in community with my fellow potters at my local studio while listening to Glenn Miller and discussing new creative ideas.

It is my hope that when you drink from this mug, you feel a sense of joy and creativity.  May it brighten your mornings and help you brew up new adventures to explore.

The Awakening Collection

Pottery With Purpose

This mini collection marks my steep climb out of a long depressive episode which lasted for three months. It is my hope that these select pieces inspire you to push through the blankets of snow to reach for the sun.

Bone White Clay

I chose a clear glaze to seal these pots because I wanted to celebrate the beauty of the clay body itself. This collection features raw clay bodies, clear glazing, and vibrant hand painted florals to balance the beauty with the unrefined way we push through depression to find the sunlight again.

Returning To Life

This collection was created to help lift me out of a dark depression that lasted for three months. The roughhewn hand built pieces in this collection were formed while battling this depression. I valued the rougher textures of handbuilding pinch pots because I feel their simplicity and imperfect textrues more honestly represent the rawness that depression imprints into our lives.

Hand Painted Florals

Each pot in this collection features hand painted freeform florals captured in the moment. When the glaze goes over these pots, the pained florals look like they are budding under a blanket of snow.
